Chennai Malar, conceptualized as a South Chennai weekly neighborhood, was born on October 19, 2003, when the first issue was published. About 40000 copies and Two Lac readers have been experiencing the fragrance of Chennai Malar.
It is with this view that we at Chennai Malar felt that we could contribute in a humble way, for the citizens of the neighborhood, a worthwhile platform to ventilate their views and exchange information of utility value through this media. We have envisaged this to be a participative paper

Youth and Children are the foundation and the future voice of the neighborhood. Towards motivating the young brethren and nurturing the talents and creativity, Chennai Malar has exclusive columns - Kids Corner and Chennai Malar Bouquet to enable the children to exhibit their creativity and feature their rare achievements/distinctions respectively.

Art & Culture are part of our heritage. Towards spreading the message, we have an exclusive column on art and culture to feature dance, music, drama, folk arts, etc. Chennai Malar believes in Women Empowerment. To enable the womenfolk of our neighborhood to communicate and exhibit their talents and creativity, we have exclusive columns on Fashion and Kitchen.

Sports and Recreation is part of any life. Fitness is the roadmap to a healthy life. We at Chennai Malar being a part of the neighborhood have featured a separate column for Sports.

Considering the fact that Chennai Malar has about 40000 copies in circulation and read by about Two lac readers, Business fraternity too could communicate with the citizens about their products and services, advertise in the exclusive Classifieds Section, Shoppers Guide section priced competitively.
