Laser Printer
Laser printer makes use of a laser beam to produce an image on a photosensitive drum. The image is transferred on to paper by a conventional xerographic printing process. The printer is faster and produces better quality documents/pictures than an ink jet printer, but is also more expensive.

Laser Printing Process

A laser printer uses the same printing technology as used by an office copier, except that a beam of laser light under computer control is moved to draw an image on a charged photosensitive drum or belt. Small carbon particles called Toner are applied to the drum and they stick to the areas that are charged. This toner image is then transferred to paper and fused to the paper by heat or pressure.

These printers can print any where between 4 to 20 pages in a minute depending on the quality, features and technology of the printer. Laser printers can print text as well as high quality graphics. These machines are available in the range of 300 dpi to 1200 dpi resolution. These printers are however suitable only for short run printing. Laser printing machine produce high-quality prints.
