A hot stamping die is heated and then transferred onto the surface to be printed with the metallic foil in between. It is a permanent and a dry process. Hot stamping can be done on a number of materials. The heat and pressure used in hot stamping permanently transfers the image to the plastic. The process is free from the manufacturing limitations commonly associated with wet ink printing. Hot stamping is often used in series with pad printing.
